Sessions, fees and funding

Little Learners is unique. We are the only all year round full day care Nursery in North Somerset that is situated within a school. We are proud to offer Nursery sessions between 7.30am and 6.00pm for 50 weeks of the year. We are closed for two weeks at Christmas and for Bank Holidays, fees are not charged for the days we are closed.

We are pleased to welcome children from 2 years 6 months – 4 years for paid or funded sessions, or indeed a combination of both. You can choose the sessions to suit you, using your two year old funding, statutory Early Years Education entitlement (15 hours) or extended entitlement (30 hours). If you are unsure of what kind of funding you may be entitled to please click here to visit the ‘Childcare Choices’ website for further information.

Early Bird

1.00pm – 6.00pm
Short Day

All Day

The session options above allow you to ‘build’ the option that suits you and your Little Learner, for example many families book Early Bird as part of their contracted sessions but it is also available on an adhoc basis for an additional level of flexibility for your childcare needs. Additionally. for your peace of mind, once your sessions have been agreed you will be issued with a contract, securing those sessions for your child, each week until your child is ready to continue their learning journey at Primary School.

How does the 30 hour extended entitlement work at Little Learners?

It may be interesting to note, that our families access their extended entitlement offer in a variety of different ways. Our stretched funding offer allows families to access fully funded childcare all year round; to illustrate, the 30 hours are ‘stretched’ to cover the 50 weeks we are open, resulting in 22.5 fully funded hours all year round. This allows families to choose the attendance pattern that suits them best. One of our most popular options is three ‘Short Days’ (7.5 hours x 3 days = 22.5 hours) however you can choose any combination of sessions to make up 22.5 hours.

In our experience, using a stretch funding model gives families peace of mind that they will not receive inflated invoices during ‘school holidays’ and allows families to access the same high quality funded education all year round.
